Leo Schumann is the inaugural Director of Action Research at the University of Pittsburgh. A social psychologist by training, his work focuses on translating behavioral science into strategies that improve student retention, persistence, and graduation. He partners with faculty, staff, and students to design and study interventions that foster belonging, motivation, and resilience.
Guided by the belief that our power is in action, he works to build a university that learns—and improves—through continuous, evidence-based reflection and collaboration.
